Bahrain driver ratings

Sakhir, 2018
The 2018 season has begun: who did and who did not live up to expectations?

In this new series we have a look, on a weekend-by-weekend basis, at how well each driver did in the previous round.

Top performers

Lando Norris

We can call him a rookie, despite him competing in Abu Dhabi last year. And he took pole, won commandingly on his more experienced team mate, and leads comfortably the championship already.

Artem Markelov

Had he qualified as high as his rookie team mate, he could have won both races. Instead, after stalling, he completed an awesome recovery to the podium and won the sprint race by nursing his tyres.

Flop performers

Antonio Fuoco

Charouz are not as competitive as fellow new entrants Carlin, but F2 race-winner Fuoco was outshined consistently by his team mate Deletraz. His experience with Prema should be worth more.

Roy Nissany

He’s not the only rookie but we could expect him facing a difficult début. He was last in every session amongst those who did not have problems.
