Sprint Race, Spain 2018
Round 4: who did and who did not live up to expectations?

Let’s have a look at how well each driver did in the previous round.

Top performers

Artem Markelov

Finally able to qualify to his potential, he won the feature race after the two leaders put themselves out and finished fourth in the sprint race. He showed he can be a contender for the title.

Louis Deletraz

Having only qualified sixteenth, Deletraz, through good strategy and avoiding errors, climbed to fourth in the feature race. Starting fifth, he climbed to second (after Norris’ penalty) by holding Markelov behind in a thrilling battle.

Flop performers

Roy Nissany

Despite all the crashes and the surprise podium in the feature race, Nissany was unable to capitalise and left another circuit empty-handed.

George Russell

He qualified ninth out of ten in his group and crashed out of both races. His title rival Norris, also with some misfortunes, still managed to increase the gap thanks to more consistency.
