Russell takes his first pole ahead of Albon and Norris

George Russell, Paul Ricard 2018
Maiden F2 pole for the Briton

Russell dominated the session to demote Albon from pole after three races.

The session was pretty straightforward. Ferrucci had power issues after his first run but was running back to speed on his second run. De Vries had technical problems when he was completing a quick lap which could have put Russell’s pole under threat. Boschung’s car also prevented him from fighting for a better result than last place.
