Norris to drive in F1 free practice at Spa

Norris has tested for McLaren, but not in an official session

Lando Norris will replace Fernando Alonso in FP1 for the Belgian Grand Prix.

Last week, the two-time world champion confirmed he will be leaving F1 after 2018, and McLaren followed announcing that Carlos Sainz Jr. will take his seat. This all but leaves Stoffel Vandoorne certain that he will remain with the team in 2019, and McLaren will test their junior driver Norris, who is currently second in F2. Norris has been rumoured in the past to be in contention to replace Brendon Hartley at Toro Rosso.
