Driver changes

After round 1 in Turkey, Coloni replaced Rigon with Ceccon and Racing Engineering replaced Vietoris with Parente.
After round 2 in Spain, Carlin replaced Aleshin with Turvey.
After round 3 in Monaco, Racing Engineering replaced Parente with Vietoris and Carlin replaced Turvey with Parente.
After round 5 in the United Kingdom, Super Nova replaced Filippi with Carroll and Coloni replaced Ceccon with Filippi.
After round 6 in Germany, Carlin replaced Parente with Aleshin.
After round 7 in Hungary, Ocean Racing Technology replaced Mirocha with Hartley.
After round 8 in Belgium, Trident replaced Coletti with Richelmi and Carlin replaced Aleshin with Parente.

Calendar

The 2011 season consisted of 9 double-race rounds, supporting the F1 Grands Prix at the same venue on the same weekend. A non-championship race at Abu Dhabi was announced under the name GP2 Final.
