McLaren junior Stoffel Vandoorne will drive for the team in F1’s post-season tests.

With the identity of McLaren’s 2015 drivers yet unknown, with Fernando Alonso reportedly trying to land a seat at the team at the expense of either Jenson Button or Kevin Magnussen, the MP4-29 will be driven by third driver Stoffel Vandoorne next week, on both days. This inevitably prompts the question if he’s being seriously considered as potential driver for next season, though Eric Boullier has said he should stay for a further GP2 campaign.

This test comes after an impressive run of four consecutive poles and his fourth win of the year.

He will join fellow GP2 drivers Raffaele Marciello, driving for Ferrari, and Jolyon Palmer, driving for Force India.
